Fishbox Answers to your Queries

If you are new to Fishbox or want to find out more before you sign up, this is the place for you. Alternatively, if you still can't find the information you're looking for contact us here and one of the Fishbox team will get back to you.

How much does a Fishbox cost?

You can choose to pay £25, £35 or £45. Our most popular boxes cost £35 or £45; the bigger the box, the better value for your money per delivery.

How often can I have my Fishbox delivered?

Weekly, fortnightly or four weekly.

What will I get in my Fishbox?

It's always a surprise! After sign-up you need to choose your "Preferences". Here you'll find a full list of all the wonderful seafood you could possibly receive in a Fishbox. Simply choose whether you 'love', 'like' or 'dislike' the products and we’ll make sure your box contains only things you like or love!

When choosing your preferences please be as adventurous as possible.  This puts less strain on particular fish species.

Where can Fishboxes be delivered?

Fishboxes can be delivered anywhere on mainland UK and the Scottish islands. We can't deliver to Northern Ireland at present - sorry!. You don't need to be at home to receive your Fishbox, just specify somewhere safe for your Fishbox to be left (eg at your back door, with a neighbor). Fishboxes can also be delivered to your office as they don't leak or smell.

How much is delivery?

Delivery is included in the subscription!

Do I need to sign for it?

No, simply tell us a place we can leave it safe.

Do I need to refrigerate my Fishbox when I receive it?

No, the Fishbox will happily stay chilled all day, whether sitting on your desk or somewhere safe until you get home, here is a handy guide on storing your Fishbox contents ...

Will my Fishbox smell or leak?

Definitely not! Products are carefully vacuum packed and frozen gel packs (not wet ice) are used to chill the boxes. Mussels and other live shellfish will be loose as they need to breathe, but will never smell.

Will I know where the fish was caught?

We label our fish with, for example, "Peterhead haddock" or "West Coast Langoustines" because we think it’s important to know where your food is from.

Our Scottish salmon is farmed by the world-renowned Scottish Salmon Company. Smoked fish is sourced from family-owned artisan smokehouses. Our mussels are rope-grown in the pure waters of Shetland. Lobsters and crab are caught by local, single-handed creel boat fishermen.

How do I order a Fishbox?

Easy! You can sign up to Fishbox here.

Can I order a trial Fishbox?

You can cancel your Fishbox at any time - so even if you sign up, you could choose to stop after one delivery.

Can I recycle my boxes?

Please take your poly boxes to your local recycling centre. Why not re-use your box to chill some beers, pack a picnic or use as a small planter for seedlings? Feel free to send us your pics of how you've chosen to re-use your Fishbox ... we love the power of your imagination!

What if I don’t like an item in my Fishbox?

You should always like your Fishbox products provided your preferences are up to date. We would encourage you to have as many products as 'likes' or 'loves' as possible to give you the chance to try all our fresh products and because this puts less pressure on different seafood types.

Your preferences can be updated at any time so if you feel you’ve had a certain product a few times (probably because it's in season) then simply pop this on your 'dislikes' and you won’t receive it until you choose to 'like' it again or, better still, if you receive the same product a few times, why not use it as an opportunity to try new recipes.

How do I edit my account?

If you want to change your Fishbox size or frequency, log into your account and make changes here. You can edit your preferences: choose whether you 'love', 'like' or 'dislike' a Fishbox product and we'll make sure none of your dislikes go in your Fishbox!  You can also control all aspects of your Fishbox - from delivery day, address change, and booking a Fishbox holiday when you’re away.

How do I pay?

You can pay securely by debit or credit card, we don't store your card details and use one of the world's biggest and safest payment providers to process your payment.

Can I take a Fishbox holiday?

You can book a Fishbox holiday while logged into your account - so plan your holidays around your Fishbox, or the other way round, of course! We require seven days' notice from your Fishbox dispatch date to pause your Fishbox.

Can I cancel my order or subscription?

Yes of course, but we’d be sad to see you go. If you have any problems with your Fishbox, please get in touch and we’ll always do our best to resolve any issues. We’re always looking for ways to make Fishbox even better so please let us know any feedback, good or bad. To cancel your subscription we require seven days' notice prior to a Fishbox being dispatched.
