Blackened spiced Halibut

 2 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp salt

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp dried oregano

1 tbsp dried thyme

1 tbsp cayenne pepper

1 tbsp pepper

2-1/2 tsp paprika

4 Fishbox halibut portions

2 tablespoons butter



  • In a large dish, combine the garlic, salt, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, pepper and paprika and mix.
  • Add halibut, two at a time, coat them well.
  • In a large frying pan, cook halibut in butter over medium heat until fish flakes easily with a fork, 3-4 minutes on each side.


Great served with salad or fries, you can also use fresh herbs, chillis and garlic. If you want an extra kick leave the fish to soak up the coating for a couple of hours.
